Year of Spain in Russia is coming to the end. One of the farewell events in december was tasting of wines of the Spanish region Valdepenas. On the 14th of December official première of Valdepenas’s wines in Russia took place in café Art Clumba. This presentation was organized in the format of gastronomic lunch with a tasting of bright samples of this region. This event was held with the assistance of European Union.

Wine region was presented by Vanessa Castillo Quiros, director of marketing PDO Valdepenas. She told the guests about the region’s history, peculiarities of wine growing and production process. Official statistics and comments on wine turnover in Russia were given by the chief of Trade and Economic department of the embassy of Spain, according to which volume of Spanish wine export for the first 8 months of 2011 has increased by 20,9%.
